What labs study it for
Growth-hormone research. Labs use this long-lasting version of a growth-hormone-releasing signal to study how sustained receptor activation behaves, and how attaching a molecule to blood proteins extends its lifetime.
What this compound is
CJC-1295 with DAC is a synthetic analogue of a growth-hormone-releasing hormone fragment, carrying a Drug Affinity Complex group that binds serum albumin and greatly extends its circulating half-life. Laboratories use it as a long-acting GHRH-receptor agonist tool in endocrine signalling studies. It is not approved for any medical use in any jurisdiction.
CJC-1295 DAC. Supplied lyophilized. Lot-specific HPLC and MS documentation accompanies each unit.
3D structure
Carbon in orange, nitrogen blue, oxygen red, sulfur yellow. Formula C165H269N47O46.
Structure from PubChem CID 91971820, with 3D coordinates computed from it.
Family
All families →GHRH analogues
All copy the same natural hormone and hit the same receptor.
Growth-hormone-releasing hormone is a 44-amino-acid hormone made in the hypothalamus. It binds the GHRH receptor on the pituitary, which is the switch for growth-hormone release. Each compound in this family is a version of that hormone, differing in how much of the sequence is kept and how it is protected from enzymes. Sermorelin keeps the first 29 residues — the shortest piece that still activates the receptor. Tesamorelin keeps all 44 and adds a chemical group at one end to slow breakdown. CJC-1295 DAC adds a group that latches onto albumin in blood, extending its life from minutes to days.
Fields of study
- GHRH receptor pharmacology
- Albumin-binding peptide design
