KPV

Inflammation Support

What this compound is

KPV is a peptide of just three amino acids: lysine, proline and valine. The sequence is the tail end (residues 11-13) of alpha-melanocyte-stimulating hormone, a signalling molecule involved in pigmentation and inflammatory regulation. Because it is the smallest active fragment, laboratories use it as a probe for melanocortin-related inflammatory signalling in cultured cells and in animal models of mucosal inflammation, without the pigmentation activity of the full hormone. It is not approved for any medical use.
